A contemporary extension at Little Wamphray, North Berwick, formed a striking yet sensitive addition to a traditional stone cottage.  The black timber cladding provides a bold contrast whilst allowing the structure to blend naturally into the surrounding landscape. As part of a wider internal reconfiguration, the design introduces a large open-plan kitchen, living, and dining space at the heart of the home—flooded with natural light and connecting the old and new elements. A new entrance foyer creates a more defined and welcoming point of arrival, leading directly into the centre of the house. The redesign also includes a generous utility room, WC, and a cosy family snug, providing both functionality and comfort in a contemporary rural setting.
